Green Silicon Valley

We bring free build days to schools the labs never reached, then fund the students who keep building. A 501(c)(3) run by teenagers.

How it works

From signup to shipped.

Here is exactly how GSV works, on the real numbers in our database. A teacher signs up. A student enrolls. A standout gets funded to build. A finished project ships. Where a number is zero, we say so. We’d rather show you a starting line than a stat we haven’t earned.

The funnel, live

Four steps, real counts.

Each step is a count off the live tables, re-read every five minutes. An empty step shows where we are, not a number we invented.

  1. 01Signed up

Teachers and students who raised their hand for a GSV workshop or class.

The build pipeline

What a funded build looks like.

Once a young person is selected, they move through seven stages with a mentor. These are the real stages we track, not a marketing diagram.

  1. Stage 1 of 7

    Selected

A pitch wins a grant. The team is picked to build.

  2. Stage 2 of 7

    Kit shipped

The parts ship. A real $40 air-quality kit lands on a desk.

  3. Stage 3 of 7

    Kickoff

First call with a mentor. The plan gets made.

  4. Stage 4 of 7

    Build milestone 1

First working piece. Sensor reads, code runs.

  5. Stage 5 of 7

    Build milestone 2

It comes together end to end.

  6. Stage 6 of 7

    Demo ready

A working demo, ready to show.

  7. Stage 7 of 7

    Shipped

    none yet

Deployed and published as a real, finished project.
