We're students teaching students — making green science personal, hands-on, and fun.
Founded and run by high school and college students who care about the planet.
Every lesson is free for schools. We run on donations and grants — never fees.
Three simple steps from request to classroom.
A teacher fills out a short form. Pick a topic, grade level, and date. It takes less than five minutes.
Our trained student volunteers build a fun, hands-on lesson. Every activity is age-appropriate for K-8 learners.
Volunteers visit your classroom and lead the session. Kids explore science through real activities — not just slides.
Bringing environmental education to classrooms that need it most.
Green Silicon Valley is a student-led nonprofit based in the Bay Area. We bring free green science lessons to K-8 schools across California and beyond. Our teams teach topics like clean energy, recycling, water systems, and local wildlife. Every program is built by students who care about the planet.
Every session is hands-on. Students build, test, and explore instead of just listening. Each lesson ties back to real issues in their own community. Teachers love that the content fits their grade level and classroom goals.
Our programs are always free. We believe cost should never block access to quality science education. Donations and community support make it possible for every school to join, no matter their budget.
We are growing fast. New chapters are launching across California and around the world. Whether you teach, volunteer, or donate, there is a way to get involved. Together, we can reach more classrooms and inspire the next generation of green leaders.
The GSV presentation was the highlight of our science week. The students were so engaged with the hands-on solar panel activity — they were still talking about it days later.

Being a volunteer with GSV gave me real experience in public speaking and teaching. It is amazing to see kids get excited about environmental science.

GSV makes environmental education accessible and fun. The fact that it is completely student-led and free for schools makes it even more impressive.
