Our backers pay for the parts and the shipping, because the classrooms we most want to reach are the ones that can’t spend a dollar on this. The receipt is the entire arrangement. No fine print under it.

02The build day

one class period, over video

One period, start to a working demo.

Nobody on your staff needs to code and there’s nothing to prep. Here’s how the hour goes.

  1. Before the call

    We plan around your room

    You tell us the grades, the headcount, and the tech you have. That decides whether we ship kits or run the browser build, and we find a date in your time zone.

  2. The call starts

    Two teen teachers join

    Your class stays put. The duo comes up on the screen and runs the room, with a presenter or translated materials lined up if your class doesn't work in English.

  3. Most of the period

    Students build

    Wire the parts or run the simulation, write the code, watch a live reading show up. The duo debugs over the camera as hands go up.

  4. The last minutes

    Demos, then a next step

    Students show what they got working. The ones who don't want to stop get invited to keep building with us.

We run from the SF Bay Area and teach over video, in your time zone. Kits ship when shipping makes sense; the browser build covers the rest. The honest part: no GSV teacher has taught in person outside the US yet. These relationships are the groundwork.

Questions teachers ask

What does it cost us?
Nothing. Tuition is $0 and our backers cover the $40 kit for every student. Your school never sees a bill.
Do our teachers need to know code?
No. The teen duo runs the whole session. Your side is a room, a class period, and someone to coordinate dates.
What if our tech is limited?
We flex to the room. There's a version for a full lab, for a few shared computers, and a browser simulation for when hardware won't work.
We're not in the US. Can we still ask?
Yes. Sessions run over video in your time zone, and the form asks your class's language so we can line up a presenter or translated materials.
Who is actually teaching?
High schoolers we train, teaching in duos. That's the whole idea of the org: teenagers teaching teenagers.
