GSV Receives 501(c)(3) Status

February 20, 2026

Green Silicon Valley officially becomes a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, enabling tax-deductible donations and grant eligibility.

We are thrilled to announce that Green Silicon Valley has been officially granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service.

This milestone means that all donations to GSV are now tax-deductible, and it opens the door to apply for grants from foundations and government agencies that require nonprofit status.

Since our founding at Wilcox High School in 2024, we have grown from a single classroom presentation to a multi-school operation with volunteer teams across the Bay Area and international virtual presentations. This formal recognition validates the work of every volunteer, intern, and supporter who has helped us get here.

Our EIN is 39-4876780. We are committed to full financial transparency and will publish annual reports detailing how every dollar is used to support our mission of free environmental education.

Thank you to everyone who has believed in this vision from the beginning. The best is yet to come.
